Tickets on Sale April 1, 2006

Visitors Age 18 and Younger Admitted Free of Charge

NASHVILLE, TENN. -- (March 22, 2006) -- Tickets for the spectacular exhibition The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt, opening June 9, 2006, at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, go on sale to the general public at 9:00 a.m. (CST) April 1, 2006. Admission for visitors 18 and younger is free, but timed tickets are required for all who visit the exhibition.

Tickets for The Quest for Immortality will be sold for entry during quarter-hour time periods for specific dates. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.

Individual Ticket Pricing
· Admission for visitors age 18 and younger is FREE.
· Adult admission is $17.00.
· Admission for visitors age 65 and older is $14.00.
· Admission for Frist Center adult members is $10.00.

Ticket prices include entry to The Quest for Immortality, an audio tour narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Jeremy Irons, viewing of the exhibition film produced by the National Gallery of Art and admission to Martin ArtQuest and concurrent exhibitions.

To Purchase Tickets
Tickets can be purchased in a number of ways:
· On site at the Frist Center (with no handling charge)
· Online, at www.egyptatthefrist.org (handling charges apply)
· By calling the toll free Egypt hotline at (866) 683-4978, Monday – Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (handling charges apply).

Tickets purchased online or by phone can be mailed or picked up at Will Call. It is recommended that timed tickets be reserved at least 48 hours in advance. Same-day tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Group Tickets
Admission for groups of 20 or more adults is $14.00 per person. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling (615) 744-3247, Monday—Friday, from
9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (CST). Group tickets must be purchased using a single method of payment.

Member Tickets
Admission for Frist Center adult members is $10.00, and tickets can be purchased on site or reserved by calling the Frist Center member Egypt hotline at (877) EGYPT-TX
(349-7889) Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (CST). To qualify for the discounted member ticket price, Frist Center membership must be current on the day of the visit.

Reserved member tickets purchased at least two weeks in advance of the day of visit can be mailed or picked up at the Will Call desk at the Frist Center. There are no handling charges for tickets for Frist Center members.

Payment
Payment for all online and telephone ticket purchases can be made with Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

The Exhibition
The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt (June 9-Oct. 8, 2006) comprises the largest collection of priceless antiquities ever loaned by the Egyptian government for exhibition in North America. Included in the exhibition are exquisitely crafted gold jewelry, massive stone carvings and intricately painted sarcophagi and funerary coffins. Human and animal mummies on loan from the Michael C. Carlos Museum in Atlanta, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum will accompany the exhibition.

Extended Hours
The Frist Center will have extended hours during The Quest for Immortality. Saturday – Wednesday, the Frist Center will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., opening earlier than usual on Sunday. Thursday and Friday evenings, the Frist Center will remain open until 9:00 p.m.

The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt is organized by United Exhibits Group, Copenhagen and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, in association with the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Cairo. Objects are loaned by the Egyptian government and come from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the Luxor Museum, and the sites of Tanis and Deir-el-Bahari.

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts, located at 919 Broadway in downtown Nashville, Tenn., is an art exhibition center dedicated to presenting the finest visual art from local, regional, U.S. and international sources in a program of changing exhibitions. The Frist Center’s Martin ArtQuest Gallery features 30 interactive stations relating to Frist Center exhibitions. Effective June 9-October 8, 2006, during The Quest for Immortality, the Frist Center will be open Saturday – Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., with extended hours on Thursdays and Fridays until 9:00 p.m. Additional information is available online at www.fristcenter.org.
